Liaison Officer

JOB DISCRIPTION OF LIAISON OFFICER 

 

• In-charge in processing POEA contract to various principal. 

• Ensure that the seafarers’ contracts submitted to POEA are duly signed and approved at the earliest possible time by making constant follow-ups. 

• Watching the e-submission process of POEA contracts of the seafarers as dictated by the Operations Manager. 

• Checks the validity, completeness, and accuracy of documents of seafarer’s documents such as:
• POEA Employment Contract, 

Letter Request for Processing and Overseas Employment 

Certificate before submission to POEA for verification, watchlist, 

approval and release. 

• Report and discuss with Operations Managers and Fleet Managers the problem that may be encountered in processing of required documentation for departing crew such as delay in the approval or release of the required documents at the POEA. 

• Ensure that enrolment and/or renewal of Principal and Vessels Accreditation as well as renewal of Company license are submitted to POEA on time. 

• Update the office whenever the POEA imposes new rules and regulations in processing contracts for seafarers. 

• In case of urgency only, processes for renewal the PRC or TESDA COC of the crew who are onboard. 

• Comply with the new documentation requirements of POEA such as - but not limited to - the mandatory conversion of the training certificates of the seafarers into National Assessment Center (NAC)-issued certificates. 

• Perform other related functions that may be assigned by the Operations Manager.
