About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in designing and delivering high-quality LCA projects across a diverse range of sectors, use cases and client needs.
- Build, review and interpret robust LCA and product carbon footprint models, primarily using SimaPro.
- Deliver work in line with recognised LCA methodologies, ISO standards, sector-specific frameworks, Product Category Rules and client-specific requirements.
- Understand client challenges, opportunities and decision-making needs, then design practical LCA approaches that provide clear value.
- Translate complex technical analysis into clear, succinct and compelling deliverables that are appropriate for the audience and support effective decision-making.
- Develop strategic, evidence-based recommendations and next steps based on LCA results, hotspots, trade-offs and improvement opportunities.
- Engage confidently with clients, including gathering requirements, explaining methods and assumptions, presenting findings, managing feedback and supporting trusted client relationships.
- Provide guidance on product carbon footprints, GHG inventories and the intersection between product-level analysis and corporate carbon accounting.
- Manage multiple projects and workstreams effectively, balancing competing timelines, priorities and client expectations.
- Apply strong, pragmatic judgement, critical thinking and proactive problem-solving to identify issues, resolve roadblocks and propose practical ways forward.
- Uphold Anthesis’ commitment to high-quality, high-impact LCA work, with strong attention to detail, technical accuracy and consistency.
- Support client engagement, proposal development and business development activities where relevant.
- Continuously identify ways to improve delivery quality, efficiency and consistency, including through process optimisation and the effective use of AI tools.
- Contribute to a learning-oriented team culture by experimenting, sharing lessons learned, failing fast where appropriate, and improving ways of working.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- A bachelor's degree in materials science, engineering, or related technical field.
- With 2-3 years of hands-on, applied LCA experience, ideally across multiple sectors, product types or value chains.
- Proven practical experience building and delivering LCA or product carbon footprint models, preferably using SimaPro.
- Strong understanding of key product footprinting standards and frameworks, including ISO 14040/14044, ISO 14067, the GHG Protocol Product Standard, EN standards for EPDs, EU Product Environmental Footprint, Product Category Rules and relevant sector-specific guidance.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify hotspots, assess trade-offs and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the confidence to propose solutions when faced with ambiguity or incomplete information.
- Strong ability to understand client problems, challenges and opportunities, and to develop practical technical approaches that address them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to turn technical analysis into clear, compelling and actionable client-facing outputs.
- Good client management skills, including the ability to build trust, manage expectations and communicate technical findings clearly to different audiences.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong personal accountability, with the ability to take ownership of work, follow through on commitments and work independently in a remote environment.
- Effective time management skills, with experience managing multiple complex projects, competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Experience using AI tools to support, accelerate or improve workflows, ideally including technical, analytical or LCA-related applications.
- A proactive improvement mindset, with a willingness to learn, experiment, fail fast and continuously improve.
- A genuine commitment to sustainability and environmental impact.
- Professional proficiency in English is essential, including strong spoken and written communication. Fluency in Spanish, French or another language is a plus.
- Experience with GHG inventories and corporate carbon footprinting is desirable.
- Power BI experience is a plus.
