<p class="x_elementToProof">We're seeking a paralegal to be an integral part of Mass Tort Law and Briefing Team. This role will work closely with a lead attorney and team members. The ability to be self sufficient and work independently on a day-to-day basis is essential. Successful candidates will be responsible for areas including but not limited to the following.</p>
<p class="x_elementToProof"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Finalize legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, and legal memoranda</div>
</li>
<li>E-file all court documents in state and federal court</li>
<li>Communicate with clients, courts, counsel, and others</li>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Keep track of docket activity, filing deadlines, and assignments</div>
</li>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Create tables of contents and tables of authorities for legal briefs</div>
</li>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Maintain organizational system for case files</div>
</li>
<li>Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes</li>
<li>Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices</li>
<li>Aid Attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests</li>
<li>Gather relevant information from a variety of sources</li>
<li>
<div>Liaise between trial teams and internal and external third parties</div>
</li>
<li>
<div>Interface with paralegals at other firms on mass tort/class action filings.</div>
</li>
<li>
<div>Attend all law & briefing group meetings, and any other meetings requested by a lead attorney</div>
</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business</li>
</ul>
<p class="x_elementToProof"><strong>Qualification</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<div>Associate’s Degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience </div>
</li>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Extensive experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. (the ability to format and solve formatting issues in a document is key)</div>
</li>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Familiarity with federal and state e-filing systems </div>
</li>
<li>Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><em>(preferred)</em></li>
<li>
<div class="x_elementToProof">Experience in Mass Torts, Class actions, Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, Medical Malpractice or other injury related practice areas<em>(preferred)</em></div>
</li>
<li>At least 2 years of working experience as a litigation paralegal or in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting</li>
<li>Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision</li>
<li>
<div>Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail</div>
