Logistics Coordinator

What your responsibilities will include:

• Brokering freight for Canadian and US Customers for both LTL and FTL shipments
• Building and maintaining relationships with carriers
• Negotiating rates, freight and dispatching
• Performing both local and long dispatching for a mix of Trucks for your routes
• Dispatching rail/flatbed/reefer trucks
• Managing all inbound and outbound activities for your routes
• Keeping up with Custom Regulations
• Analyzing load information from the customers in order to determine and verify the appropriate routes, border crossing points and rates, and setting up the daily schedules
• Maintaining contact with customers throughout the duration of the order and communicating both positive and negative occurrences
• Performing warehouse and document audits to ensure compliance and functioning operations
• Working with a variety of departments to ensure functioning operations
• Performing any task required by the Vice President of Operations

 

What we require from you:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of Freight Brokerage experience
• Minimum 3 years of Dispatching experience
• Truck Mate experience is an asset
• Experience in with LTL freight
• Excellent knowledge of Truck Transportation industry
• Excellent Knowledge of brokering truckloads, negotiating rates, carrier development, scheduling pickups and deliveries, and tracking shipments
• Familiarity with common carrier tariffs, freight classes, NMFCs, TMS systems and Load Boards is an asset
