We are committed to delivering fast, reliable service while maintaining a disciplined focus on employee safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.</p> <p data-start="648" data-end="666">Position Summary</p> <p data-start="668" data-end="873">The Safety and Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for leading workplace safety and environmental compliance across AQL operations, with a strong focus on California regulatory requirements.</p> <p data-start="875" data-end="1422">This is a hands-on, field-facing role for a specialist who can quickly assess risk, identify compliance gaps, and implement practical solutions that reduce exposure to fines, penalties, and operational disruption. This role is expected to quickly identify and remediate compliance gaps, particularly in California, to reduce regulatory exposure and potential penalties. The role partners closely with Regional Managers, store leadership, HR, and Operations to ensure consistent execution of safety and environmental standards across all locations.</p> <p data-start="1424" data-end="1446">Key Responsibilities</p> <p data-start="1448" data-end="2589">Lead safety and environmental compliance efforts across AQL locations, with emphasis on California regulations and CUPA-related requirements<br data-start="1588" data-end="1591">Conduct field audits, inspections, and site assessments to identify safety hazards and environmental compliance risks<br data-start="1708" data-end="1711">Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, and applicable environmental laws<br data-start="1816" data-end="1819">Evaluate hazardous materials handling, storage, disposal, and documentation practices at the store level<br data-start="1923" data-end="1926">Investigate workplace incidents and environmental concerns, focusing on root cause, corrective action, and prevention<br data-start="2043" data-end="2046">Partner with Regional Managers and store leadership to correct compliance gaps and reinforce accountability<br data-start="2153" data-end="2156">Support preparation for regulatory inspections and assist in responding to agency inquiries or findings<br data-start="2259" data-end="2262">Develop and deliver practical training for managers on safety, hazardous materials handling, and compliance expectations<br data-start="2382" data-end="2385">Monitor trends and provide recommendations to reduce risk, improve compliance, and strengthen field execution<br data-start="2494" data-end="2497">Support development and rollout of safety and environmental policies, procedures, and SOPs</p> <p data-start="2591" data-end="2607">Qualifications</p> <p data-start="2609" data-end="3126">3–5 years of experience in safety, environmental compliance, EHS, or hazardous materials management in a multi-site or field-based environment<br data-start="2751" data-end="2754">Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices<br data-start="2827" data-end="2830">Experience with hazardous materials regulations, inspections, or environmental compliance programs<br data-start="2928" data-end="2931">Ability to conduct audits, interpret regulations, and implement corrective actions in operational settings<br data-start="3037" data-end="3040">Ability to influence field leadership and drive compliance across multiple locations</p> <p data-start="3128" data-end="3150">Preferred Experience</p> <p data-start="3152" data-end="3711">Experience working with California environmental regulations, including Certified Unified Program Agency requirements<br data-start="3269" data-end="3272">Background in hazardous materials management, environmental health, industrial hygiene, or related field<br data-start="3376" data-end="3379">Experience supporting inspections, enforcement, or regulatory compliance in a business or government setting<br data-start="3487" data-end="3490">Experience in automotive, service, industrial, or similar operational environments<br data-start="3572" data-end="3575">Military leadership or safety-related experience is valued, particularly in roles involving operational risk management and compliance</p> <p data-start="3713" data-end="3741">Certifications (Preferred)</p> <p data-start="3743" data-end="3906">OSHA 30 strongly preferred<br data-start="3769" data-end="3772">HAZWOPER or similar environmental or safety certification preferred<br data-start="3839" data-end="3842">ASP, CSP, or other recognized safety certifications are a plus</p> <p data-start="3908" data-end="3916">Skills</p> <p data-start="3918" data-end="4187">Strong ability to assess risk and take decisive action in the field<br data-start="3985" data-end="3988">Clear and effective communication with both field teams and regulatory stakeholders<br data-start="4071" data-end="4074">High level of accountability, integrity, and sound judgment<br data-start="4133" data-end="4136">Organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused</p> <p data-start="4189" data-end="4207">Work Environment</p> <p data-start="4209" data-end="4396">Frequent travel across AQL locations<br data-start="4245" data-end="4248">Field-based role with regular site inspections and operational engagement<br data-start="4321" data-end="4324">Ability to respond to urgent safety or environmental matters as needed</p> <p data-start="4398" data-end="4412">Compensation</p> <p data-start="4414" data-end="4533">$80,000 – $100,000 annually, depending on experience<br data-start="4466" data-end="4469">Eligible for bonus opportunities and standard company benefits</p> </div> </div> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Further questions about the job?
