Machine Operator

The Role

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating high speed machinery at our Can Manufacturing facility in Wiri, South Auckland. This is a 6-month fixed-term position, with the potential for extension based on performance.

The successful candidate must be willing to work a rotating 12-hour shift pattern as part of a continuous 7-day operation. The roster follows a four days on, four days off cycle (applied for approximately six months of the year): two day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, followed by two night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am, then four days off. Overtime opportunities are readily available and paid at premium rates.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Execute machine setups, adjustments and operate high speed machinery
• Conduct regular inspections, cleaning and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime
• Troubleshoot equipment faults and implement corrective actions as required
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to strict food safety standards and procedures at all times
• Read, understand and follow SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and support continuous improvement efforts
