The SDK is a strategic offering aimed at replacing the existing&nbsp;infrastructure used by our partners while laying a robust foundation for future expansion into&nbsp;additional security capabilities within consumer AV products.<br><br>In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build impactful security solutions from the ground up,&nbsp;working closely alongside architects, product managers, and fellow developers. You'll have&nbsp;direct input into the technical decisions that shape the architecture, design, and functionality of&nbsp;our macOS SDK.<br><br>We are seeking someone who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, has deep&nbsp;expertise in macOS system-level programming, and is comfortable working hands-on with code,&nbsp;debugging tools, and kernel-level frameworks.<br><br><strong>Your day-to-day:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>macOS SDK Development:</strong> Contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of the macOS security SDK, focusing on real-time malware scanning, quarantine mechanisms, system extensions, and advanced security functionality.</li> <li><strong>System-Level Programming &amp; Integration:</strong>&nbsp; <ul> <li>Leverage macOS-specific technologies such as Endpoint Security Framework, System Extensions, XPC services, and launchd for efficient system integration.</li> <li>Develop robust, performant components for real-time protection, threat detection, quarantine handling, and network filtering.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Security and Compliance:</strong> <ul> <li>Implement security best practices, including secure coding standards, robust error handling, and protection against malicious tampering or exploitation.</li> <li>Ensure the SDK adheres to Apple’s security guidelines, including compatibility with System Integrity Protection (SIP) and Gatekeeper requirements.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>P</strong><strong>erformance Optimization:</strong> <ul> <li>Profile and optimize performance for minimal CPU usage, memory footprint, and low-latency operations.</li> <li>Ensure our macOS SDK exceeds current benchmarks established by market-leading solutions.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Documentation and Developer Experience:</strong> <ul> <li>Author clear, comprehensive documentation that supports internal and external developers integrating the macOS SDK.</li> <li>Create sample applications and code examples that demonstrate best practices and facilitate easy adoption.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional Collaboration:</strong> <ul> <li>Work closely with product, QA, and security teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration across different modules and platforms.</li> <li>Participate actively in architecture and design reviews, contributing macOS-specific insights and guidance</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong><br>What you bring to the table:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>At least 5 years</strong> of extensive experience developing software for macOS, particularly at the system or kernel-extension level.</li> <li><strong>Expert knowledge</strong> of <strong>Objective-C</strong>,<strong> Swift</strong>, and <strong>low-level C/C++ programming</strong>.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with <strong>macOS frameworks</strong> such as<strong> Endpoint Security Framework</strong>, <strong>XPC services</strong>, <strong>launchd</strong>, and <strong>System Extensions</strong>.</li> <li>Proven experience with macOS security mechanisms, including System Integrity Protection (SIP), notarization, entitlements, and sandboxing.</li> <li>Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with experience using Xcode Instruments, LLDB, or similar tools.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate technical details to both developers and non-technical stakeholders<br><br></li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with <strong>Endpoint Security Framework</strong> (ESF) and associated APIs for real-time system monitoring.</li> <li>Experience with <strong>network-level programming</strong> on macOS, including <strong>Network Extensions.</strong></li> <li>Experience in developing or integrating antivirus, network security, VPN, or other endpoint security products.</li> <li>Knowledge of security industry practices, including threat detection techniques, quarantine/remediation processes, and secure coding principles.</li> </ul> <p><strong><br>What We Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Impactful Role:</strong> Directly influence a critical security platform, shaping how millions of users interact securely with their devices.</li> <li><strong>Innovative Environment:</strong> Work within a dynamic, highly collaborative team where your technical expertise is valued and your contributions have high visibility.</li> <li><strong>Professional Growth:</strong> Opportunities for leadership, career growth, and continued learning in advanced security technologies.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
