<p>Horace Mann is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented <strong>Mail/Copy Center Specialist</strong> to support critical mail, print, and document production operations. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective processing of company mailings, print requests, and shipping activities while maintaining high-volume production equipment.</p> <p>The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in delivering high-quality service to internal business partners across the organization.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Mail &amp; Print Operations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Consult with business units to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for large mailings, printing projects, and postage processing.</li> <li>Receive and fulfill Marketing Portal orders, including printing, packaging, and shipping materials using FedEx services while determining the most appropriate shipping method.</li> <li>Process Contact Center and Underwriting requests by printing, assembling, metering, and mailing required documents.</li> <li>Process electronic Add Car requests, meter mail, and prepare items for pre-sort mailing services.</li> <li>Ensure all mail and print requests are completed accurately and within established service standards.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Equipment Operation &amp; Maintenance</strong></p> <ul> <li>Operate and maintain Copy Center and Mail Center equipment, including:</li> <ul> <li>High-speed color and black-and-white printers</li> <li>Commercial cutters</li> <li>Commercial hole punch equipment</li> <li>Commercial folders</li> <li>Mail inserters</li> <li>Postage meters</li> </ul> <li>Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs as needed to minimize downtime.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Reporting &amp; Administrative Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide Financial Reporting with postage allocation information for postage meters and pre-sort mailing expenses.</li> <li>Create and maintain reports using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.</li> <li>Monitor, track, and report mail and print volume trends to management.</li> <li>Assist with budgeting activities by providing operational data and reporting insights.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Customer Service &amp; Operational Excellence</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide exceptional support to internal business partners by ensuring requests are completed accurately and efficiently.</li> <li>Maintain accuracy when matching records, processing documents, and handling sensitive business materials.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce costs.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p> <p><strong>Required</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED.</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy.</li> <li>Ability to create and maintain reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.</li> <li>Ability to match records, transfer information accurately, and maintain document integrity.</li> <li>Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds at waist level and overhead.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred</strong></p> <ul> <li>2–3 years of practical experience in mail operations, printing, scanning, inserting, or document production environments.</li> <li>Proven knowledge of printers, inserters, postage meter equipment, and related mailroom technologies.</li> <li>Experience working in a high-volume print and mail processing environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demanding office environment with significant daily production activity.</li> <li>Very limited travel, primarily to local post office locations and occasional training sites.</li> <li>Must maintain an acceptable driving record (Motor Vehicle Record checked annually).</li> </ul> <p>Pay Range:</p> <ul> <li>$16.59 - $22.28/hr.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Horace Mann was founded in 1945 by two Springfield, Illinois, teachers who saw a need for quality, affordable auto insurance for teachers.
