Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant

<p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a skilled Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant to support application migration programs on <strong>IBM Z</strong>. This role focuses on migration from competitive source-code management and DevOps tooling to IBM solutions such as <strong>DBB</strong>, <strong>Git</strong>, <strong>IDz</strong>, and <strong>IDD / DevOps Deploy</strong>. The role requires hands-on migration delivery, conversion analysis, troubleshooting, and client-facing support in complex <strong>z/OS</strong> environments.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and support migration projects from <strong>CA Endevor</strong> and other source-code management platforms to <strong>IBM DBB</strong>, <strong>Git</strong>, <strong>IDz</strong>, and <strong>IBM DevOps Deploy / IDD</strong>.</li> <li>Analyze, convert, and validate existing <strong>Endevor</strong>-based applications and development flows.</li> <li>Install, configure, and troubleshoot IBM DevOps migration tools in customer environments.</li> <li>Support build, branching, repository, and pipeline transition activities in <strong>IBM Z DevOps</strong></li> <li>Prepare and deliver customer training sessions and technical presentations related to DevOps migration and IBM tooling.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Mandatory Skills and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong <strong>z/OS</strong> / <strong>IBM Z</strong> mainframe background with application development, system programming, or software change management experience.</li> <li>Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV DevOps or SCM tools—especially <strong>CA Endevor</strong>—to <strong>IBM DBB</strong>, <strong>Git</strong>, <strong>IDz</strong>, and <strong>IBM DevOps Deploy / IDD</strong>.</li> <li>Practical experience analyzing, converting, validating, and troubleshooting migration of application build and change-management processes.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of <strong>TSO/ISPF</strong>, <strong>JCL</strong>, <strong>USS</strong>, and <strong>REXX</strong>.</li> <li>Working knowledge of <strong>Git</strong>, repositories, branching, <strong>YAML</strong>, <strong>Groovy</strong> scripting, and pipeline/build debugging.</li> <li>Strong problem-determination skills and the ability to support customers through migration-related issues.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred / Additional Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with applications development on IBM Z.</li> <li>Exposure to related migration areas such as <strong>Easytrieve-to-COBOL</strong> conversion and <strong>IBM Migration Utility</strong>.</li> <li>Hands-on experience in mainframe modernization and enterprise DevOps transformation.</li> </ul>
