  • Support the development and maintenance of basic automation and tooling (REXX, JCL, scripts).
  • Produce standard reports and documentation to support compliance and operational activities.
  • Start with daylight support and progressively participate in on-call/watch duty, once sufficiently trained.

Complexity & Problem Solving

  • Work on well-defined, routine tasks using documented procedures.
  • Identify issues and escalate appropriately to more experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to investigations by collecting data and applying known methods.
  • Develop understanding of core domains (z/OS, RACF, IAM, crypto) with structured support.

Decision Making

  • Take day-to-day decisions within clearly defined guidelines.
  • Apply established standards and policies consistently.
  • Escalate deviations, risks, or uncertainties to senior team members.

Autonomy & Collaboration

  • Operate with regular supervision and coaching.
  • Plan and organise own tasks within clearly prioritised work.
  • Actively seek feedback and demonstrate continuous learning behaviour.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multicultural, cross-functional team.
  • Gradually increase autonomy as experience develops.

Qualifications

  • Initial exposure to mainframe environments (z/OS) through studies, internships, or first roles.
  • Basic knowledge of security concepts is an advantage.
