About the role
DAEOC is seeking someone responsible for the general maintenance and repairs of all Agency facilities in the six county area served by DAEOC. This individual will do preventative maintenance, minor repairs and installation of equipment and other materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Builds, repairs and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim.
- Installs glass in windows, doors and partitions.
- Replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile and wall coverings.
- Build cabinets and other wooden equipment as necessary.
- Installs items such as window shades, venetian blinds and curtain rods, wall fans and door locks.
- Installs, removes, and relocates playground equipment as needed.
- Completes repairs to offices/centers related to Fire and Safety Codes and Licensing in a timely manner.
- Moves, transports and relocates equipment, supplies, furniture, etc. to assigned locations as necessary.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of assigned vehicles including daily checks to ensure fluids, tires, wipers, etc. are in good condition.
- Responsible for the upkeep and care of tools and equipment as well as keeping them in good working condition.
- Certified on forklift, loads/unloads trucks as necessary.
Education and/or Experience: Must have at least two years of technical school (with certificate of completion) or four years related experience and/or equivalent combination of educational training and experience. Must possess good communication and management skills. Must have a good understanding of project management.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software as well as Google Chrome, email, etc.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a driver’s license valid in the state of Missouri.
Must have a cell phone capable of, and be capable of, texting.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must have the ability to empathize with and understand the needs of DAEOC clientele. Must have knowledge of living and working conditions in the six-county area of Southeast Missouri as they relate to DAEOC clients.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel the six-county area 4 to 5 days a week and go out-of-area on a periodical basis.
