Part-time Maintenance Person

Our high school is seeking a janitor that can keep our building spotless. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating a welcoming environment with good hygiene for our students. The ideal candidate will ensure all the offices and classrooms are cleaned daily, the bathrooms are spotless, floors are sparkling, and the building is immaculate.

The responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors
• Clean and maintain classrooms
• Empty trash cans, service restrooms, and wipe down communal surfaces
• Tackle heavy cleaning jobs upon request
• Ensure walkways remain clear and free of debris
• Notify administration of any repairs required
• Set up, clean tables, bleachers and chairs to prepare for school events
• Basic care of plants
• Maintain parking lot, outside school premises, and grooming

 

Skills and Qualifications

• High School graduate
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery used in cleaning.
• Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage and disposal methods.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team member,
• Excellent time management skills.
• Self-motivated and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks with minimal supervision.
