Assistant Manager – Tanker, Cruise & Offshore Operations

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager – Tanker, Cruise & Offshore Operations is responsible for overseeing and coordinating vessel husbandry services, port operations, crew logistics, regulatory compliance, and customer service activities related to tanker, cruise, and offshore vessels. The role ensures efficient operational execution, maintains strong relationships with principals, port authorities, and service providers, and supports business growth while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Coordinate and supervise port call operations for tanker, cruise, and offshore vessels.
  • Ensure smooth execution of vessel arrivals, departures, crew changes, and husbandry services.
  • Monitor operational performance and ensure timely service delivery.
  • Manage vessel documentation, permits, clearances, and port formalities.
  • Handle operational emergencies and provide timely solutions to minimize disruptions.

Customer & Principal Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned principals and vessel operators.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide regular operational updates and reports to customers.
  • Address customer complaints and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Compliance & Regulatory Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with local maritime regulations, port authority requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor changes in maritime regulations affecting tanker, cruise, and offshore operations.
  • Maintain proper records and documentation for audits and inspections.
  • Promote adherence to safety, security, and environmental standards.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and guide operations executives and coordinators.
  • Allocate resources and manpower effectively to support operational activities.
  • Conduct training and coaching to enhance team competency and performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of tanker, cruise, and offshore vessel operations.
  • Understanding of port procedures, vessel husbandry, and maritime regulations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and shipping-related systems.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

  • Vessel operation efficiency and turnaround time.
  • Customer satisfaction and service quality.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Response time to operational issues and customer requests.
  • Cost control and budget adherence.

Reporting Line

Reports to: General Manager / Operations Manager

Direct Reports

Operations Supervisor, Operations Executive, Boarding Officers and Coordinators.
