Role overview
Guide POC development for mechatronic subsystems including actuators, sensors, and electromechanical modules for 3W & SCV EV platforms. Focus on interpreting designs from Design COE, validating concepts, and directing efforts towards POC goals with emphasis on frugal engineering and emerging market requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities
A. Technology Exploration & Feasibility:
- Support technology exploration aligned with business strategy and product roadmap
- Conduct feasibility studies, trade-off analysis, and initial risk assessments
- Build and validate POC prototypes
B. Design Interpretation & Validation:
- Review and interpret mechatronic designs from Design COE
- Understand simulation models and results to guide POC direction
- Provide inputs and feedback to Design COE for POC requirements
C. Technology Suitability & Benchmarking:
- Evaluate technology suitability for 3W/SCV target markets
- Perform competitive benchmarking and identify best-fit solutions
D. Risk Identification & Mitigation:
- Identify technical roadblocks and develop mitigation plans
- Progress concepts through Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)
E. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with E&E, HW COE, SW, and V&V teams
- Collaborate with local suppliers for cost-effective development
F. Documentation & Handover:
- Prepare technical handover package for Product Engineering
- Maintain design rationale and ensure technology readiness
G. Innovation & Mentoring:
- Contribute to technical papers and patents (1–2 per year)
- Mentor junior engineers
