A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

Role Overview:
The Senior Manager, Business Insights & Optimisation is responsible for identifying and driving business opportunities that create financial impact. This includes optimisation, process improvements, cost reduction, and addressing revenue leakage. This role will focus on uncovering inefficiencies, designing actionable solutions, and ensuring successful implementation either through direct execution or by identifying the appropriate business owner for handoff. The position will work cross-functionally to ensure continued business and commercial optimisation as Teleport grows and scales.

This role will also oversee a small team of BI Analysts, who will support data gathering, dashboard development, and foundational analytics to provide the insights necessary for identifying and quantifying business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify high-impact opportunities across the business related to cost savings, process efficiency, and revenue leakage mitigation.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations and business cases to support optimisation initiatives.
  • Lead and execute selected initiatives from identification through to measurable outcomes, ensuring successful implementation. Examples include auditing pricing methodologies to prevent revenue leakage, automating manual reconciliation processes, and optimizing contract terms to reduce costs.
  • For initiatives outside direct scope, identify the appropriate business owner, establish handover plans, and ensure execution accountability.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Product, and Commercial teams to drive process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Oversee the development and automation of dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators and identify new opportunities.
  • Manage and mentor commercial analysts, ensuring they provide strong analytical support and actionable insights that align with business priorities.
  • Continuously improve methodologies for opportunity identification, impact measurement, and execution strategies.
  • Present insights, recommendations, and progress updates to senior leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI):

  • Realized Financial Impact – Measurable financial benefits from cost savings, revenue leakage recovery, and operational improvements.

Requirements

These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business analytics, process improvement, or strategy roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Expertise in problem-solving, process optimisation, and financial impact analysis.
  • Proficiency in business case development.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives from concept to execution with measurable results.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the air freight or logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and implementation strategies.
