About the role
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design Review & Validation: Review mechanical designs, drawings, and schematics to ensure manufacturability and compliance with industry standards
- Risk Management: Lead and participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential design risks and define mitigation strategies
- Testing & Evaluation reports confirmation: Review test plans and reports during validation of mechanical prototypes through various stages till SOP
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate mechanical failures, defects, or customer complaints, and establish corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in consultation with COEs related to design issues
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to integrate Design Quality into the product lifecycle early stage
- Quality Methodologies: Deep understanding of quality frameworks like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO standards
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD Software (e.g., Unigraphics, CATIA, AutoCAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
- Expertise with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and metrology
- Strong data analysis skills various tools
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g., Teamcenter)
- Good presentation skill using tools like PPT, XLS and Power BI
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as QMS Certified Quality Engineer or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- Design background in BIW, Drive Train etc.
