LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach. </p></div><p>LotusWorks is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Commissioning Lead to oversee commissioning activities on mission-critical and data center projects. This role is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical commissioning, ensuring all systems meet design intent, operational requirements, and client expectations.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead mechanical commissioning activities for data center and mission-critical projects</li>
<li>Ensure systems meet design intent, operational requirements, and client expectations</li>
<li>Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and test scripts</li>
<li>Review drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation</li>
<li>Identify design risks related to operation, maintenance, and reliability</li>
<li>Define system boundaries and turnover packages</li>
<li>Coordinate schedules with construction, QA/QC, TAB, controls, and client teams</li>
<li>Align commissioning activities with project milestones and energization plans</li>
<li>Perform field inspections to verify installation compliance with design documents</li>
<li>Identify deficiencies and track corrective actions to closure</li>
<li>Verify equipment startup readiness and vendor requirements</li>
<li>Review and validate mechanical QA/QC documentation</li>
<li>Support punch list development and closeout</li>
<li>Coordinate turnover from construction to commissioning</li>
<li>Lead commissioning of chilled water systems, cooling towers, AHUs, CRAH/CRAC units, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, expansion tanks, water treatment systems, HVAC controls, BAS integration, ventilation, pressurization, and containment systems</li>
<li>Develop and execute pre-functional checklists (PFCs) and functional performance tests (FPTs)</li>
<li>Witness equipment startups and vendor testing</li>
<li>Verify alarms, safeties, interlocks, and control sequences</li>
<li>Coordinate and validate TAB results</li>
<li>Verify system performance under normal, maintenance, and failure conditions</li>
<li>Lead integrated systems testing (IST) across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems</li>
<li>Validate redundancy and concurrent maintainability (N+1, 2N, 2N+1)</li>
<li>Coordinate with BAS/BMS teams to validate sequences of operation</li>
<li>Verify sensor calibration and control point functionality</li>
<li>Review system graphics, alarms, trends, and interfaces</li>
<li>Validate integration with BMS/EPMS platforms</li>
<li>Support automated response and failover testing</li>
<li>Maintain commissioning logs, issue trackers, and deficiency reports</li>
<li>Produce daily and weekly commissioning reports</li>
<li>Track commissioning progress against schedule</li>
<li>Review startup reports, TAB reports, and vendor documentation</li>
<li>Compile final commissioning records and turnover packages</li>
<li>Support development of systems manuals and O&M documentation</li>
<li>Lead mechanical commissioning engineers and agents</li>
<li>Coordinate vendors, contractors, TAB firms, and controls teams</li>
<li>Facilitate commissioning meetings and testing workshops</li>
<li>Drive issue resolution and escalation processes</li>
<li>Ensure safe and efficient execution of commissioning activities</li>
<li>Serve as primary mechanical commissioning point of contact</li>
<li>Present commissioning status, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders</li>
<li>Support client witness testing and acceptance activities</li>
<li>Coordinate operator training and turnover to facility operations teams</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with LOTO, safety, and energization procedures</li>
<li>Participate in job hazard analysis (JHA) and pre-task planning (PTP)</li>
<li>Promote safe work practices during testing and startup activities</li>
<li>Deliver commissioning plan, system turnover matrix, PFCs, FPTs, IST scripts, deficiency logs, progress reports, TAB reviews, startup verification reports, final commissioning report, systems manual, and owner turnover package</li>
<li>Achieve first-pass system acceptance and high deficiency closure rate</li>
<li>Maintain schedule adherence and successful IST execution</li>
<li>Ensure zero safety incidents during commissioning activities</li>
<li>Support successful client acceptance and turnover</li>
<li>Deliver reliable system performance aligned with design intent</li>
<li>Minimum 3+ years of experience commissioning mechanical systems in data center or mission-critical environments</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of HVAC and critical cooling systems</li>
<li>Experience leading commissioning activities and cross-functional coordination</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications</li>
<li>Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Preferred experience with large-scale data center projects</li>
<li>Familiarity with BAS/BMS systems and integrated systems testing</li>
<li>Knowledge of commissioning best practices and standards</li>
<li>Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. </li>
</ul>
<h3>Skills Required:</h3>
<ul>
<li>3+ years commissioning mechanical systems in data center or mission-critical environments</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of HVAC and cooling systems</li>
<li>Experience leading commissioning activities</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical documentation</li>
<li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills</li>
</ul>
<h3>Education / Licenses / Certifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED required.</li>
<li>Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable</li>
