We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.</p></div><p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As a Mechanical Engineer II you will be responsible for;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Design and develop precision mechanical components and assemblies for opto-mechanical systems</li> <li>Support integration of optical elements including lenses, mirrors, and laser paths into mechanical structures</li> <li>Develop and refine pointing and stabilization mechanisms (e.g., gimbals, mounts, precision actuation systems)</li> <li>Perform tolerance analysis (GD&amp;T) to ensure optical alignment and system performance</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with optical, electrical, and systems engineering teams</li> <li>Support prototype builds, testing, and validation, including troubleshooting and design iteration</li> <li>Ensure designs meet ruggedization requirements (shock, vibration, thermal stability)</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field</li> <li>3–10 years of experience in mechanical design (level flexible based on candidate)</li> <li>Experience with precision mechanical design and tight tolerance assemblies in rugged environments</li> <li>Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)</li> <li>Strong understanding of GD&amp;T and tolerance stack-up analysis</li> <li>Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="none">Salary Range: $100k-$140k</span></strong></p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.</p> <p><em><strong>Please beware of job seeker scams and see this <a href="https://www.alten.com/careers/job-offers/">important notice</a> on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.</strong></em></p> <p><strong>Compliance Notice: </strong>Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
