<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Senior Mechanical Engineer</strong></p> <p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Position Overview:&nbsp;</strong>The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work together with team members at Axis, including Project Managers, Controls Engineers, Machine Builders, Machining / Fabrication specialists and other Mechanical Engineers to conceptualize, design, test and validate automation systems. Must have engineering knowledge related to automation systems and be able to interpret engineering drawings, machine and part data. Requires knowledge of controls systems, manufacturing processes and procedures, with direct experience in automation systems and/or robotic equipment.</p> <p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Responsibilities:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li style="text-align: left;">Develop and fully design equipment, layouts and subassemblies of automated robotic work cells in SolidWorks CAD.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Manage and lead assigned projects and direct project teams.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Interpret GD&amp;T and Datum requirements for tooling designs.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Ensure that equipment is designed to customer and/or Axis Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Ensure equipment meets industry safety guidelines.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Lead mechanical design presentations and reviews with internal team, customers and suppliers.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Consult with Process/Cost Engineers.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Review CAD data levels and revisions that are presented in customer parts.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Designs with NAAMS standard components.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Manage and lead mid-scale projects and work with project teams.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Real-time communication with company management and project teams on developments.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Professional management of customer relationships and requests.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Communicate with vendors to specify and source major purchased components.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Ability to train and teach less experienced Mechanical Design Engineers and Co-Ops / Interns.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Create and improve standards and procedures for the Mechanical Design department.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Support build and assembly teams.</li> </ul> <p></p> <ul> <li>Champion our Operating Principles: You will be expected to actively embody and uphold our ten operating principles, which guide our every action and decision at Axis Automation. These principles are key to our culture and success.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.</li> <li>5+ years’ experience designing automated machinery required.</li> <li>Direct knowledge of automated assembly processes with a preference for welding experience.</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&amp;T).</li> <li>Proven experience developing comprehensive design packages.</li> <li>Strong understanding of controls systems, manufacturing processes, and robotic integration.</li> <li>Advanced proficiency in parametric 3D CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.</li> <li>Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Salary:&nbsp;</strong>$85,000 - $95,000</p> <p><strong>Benefits:&nbsp;</strong>Axis offers a comprehensive benefits package to our employees with immediate eligibility upon hire.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
