<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>Quantum Space is redefining mobility and autonomy beyond Earth orbit. Our Ranger spacecraft deliver high delta-V and sustained on-orbit maneuverability, enabling missions across cislunar and geostationary space that were previously out of reach. We are building the vehicles, infrastructure, and operational expertise that connect and protect assets across the Earth–Moon system.</p>
<p><strong>Who We’re Looking For</strong></p>
<p>Quantum Space is seeking a <strong>Mechanical Engineer II</strong> to contribute to the development of flight hardware across our Spacecraft Programs. This role is intended for an engineer who can independently execute well-scoped components or subassemblies and support hardware through build, integration, and test.</p>
<p>You will begin taking ownership of design deliverables while collaborating closely with AIT, manufacturing, and senior engineers.</p>
<p><strong>Where You’ll Make an Impact</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Own design of components and subassemblies from requirements through release</li>
<li>Develop CAD and drawings in Creo; apply GD&T with increasing independence</li>
<li>Drive interface definition: mounting features, tolerances, datums, and packaging constraints</li>
<li>Perform basic structural and thermal analysis (hand calcs and FEA support)</li>
<li>Support hardware integration: troubleshoot issues, propose fixes, and implement design updates</li>
<li>Contribute to verification planning and execution: fit checks, functional validation, and test support</li>
<li>Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR) with clear technical communication</li>
<li>Coordinate with suppliers: review drawings, clarify requirements, and support part acceptance</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>What It Takes</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field</li>
<li>2–5 years of relevant experience with hardware development</li>
<li>Proficiency in Creo (or similar CAD) and experience releasing drawings</li>
<li>Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)</li>
<li>Experience supporting hardware through build/test cycles</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability</li>
<li>Work location within the DMV area</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Nice-to-Have Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS, Nastran, etc.)</li>
<li>Exposure to spacecraft or aerospace systems</li>
<li>Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill or similar)</li>
<li>Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing teams</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Compensation</strong>: $100,000 to $140,000 Annual Salary Depending on Experience</p>

<p>To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations.</p>
