We don’t just expect you to build products simply, but to be proud of what we do.&nbsp;</p> <p>Are you ready to embrace challenges in a fast-paced organization?&nbsp;</p> <p>Join UI, refresh us with your crazy but creative ideas, and make a great impact on the world together!</p> <h3><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Collaborate closely with Industrial Design (ID) to translate product concepts into manufacturable mechanical designs, ensuring design intent, usability, and cost targets are met.</li> <li>Lead mechanical design and development, including 3D CAD modeling (e.g., SolidWorks), 2D drawings, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).</li> <li>Validate prototypes through functional, assembly, and reliability testing (e.g., drop test, thermal cycling, environmental testing), and drive design iterations based on test results.</li> <li>Work cross-functionally with Tooling, Manufacturing, Hardware, RF/Antenna, and Sourcing teams to resolve integration issues, optimize performance, and ensure seamless system-level implementation.</li> <li>Drive product development through all stages, including tooling, EVT/DVT/PVT, pilot run, and mass production, ensuring schedule adherence and risk mitigation.</li> <li>Define and control mechanical specifications, BOM, and engineering documentation, maintaining design consistency throughout the product lifecycle.</li> <li>Optimize product design for cost, quality, and user experience (UX), including material selection, surface finishing, and structural integrity.</li> <li>Conduct competitive product teardown and benchmarking, providing insights into mechanical architecture, materials, and manufacturing processes to guide product strategy.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li>BS in Mechanical or Equivalent&nbsp;</li> <li>5+ years of experience in Mechanical Design (sheet metal, plastics, castings, CNC)</li> <li>Specializes in waterproof/compact system design</li> <li>Thrive in a dynamic, fast-evolving environment with a proactive mindset</li> <li>Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and effective interpersonal skills</li> <li>Maintain focus and clarity under challenges with a solution-oriented approach</li> <li>Experience with consumer electronics products, including but not limited to networking devices (e.g., AP, routers), smart security products (e.g., doorbells, IP cameras), or access control devices (e.g., smart locks, keypad/biometric systems).</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Experience in injection molding/sheet metal/ die casting “Design.”</li> <li>Able to communicate effectively in English, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams</li> </ul>
