About the role

As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Solutions Architect, you are responsible for defining and governing the overall ERP architecture across complex enterprise environments. You ensure the delivery of a coherent, scalable, and future-ready solution design that aligns with client business objectives and industry best practices.

You act as the ultimate technical and functional authority for the ERP solution, guiding clients and project teams through design decisions across manufacturing- and logistics-driven industries. Your role bridges business needs, functional processes, and technical implementation within Microsoft Dynamics 365.

You combine deep functional expertise with strong technical understanding, enabling you to translate complex requirements into structured, sustainable ERP architectures. You play a key role in shaping innovative, efficient, and maintainable solutions while advising stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

Enterprise Architecture & Solution Design

  • Define and maintain the overarching ERP architecture for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions.
  • Ensure end-to-end solution consistency, scalability, and alignment with business and IT strategy.
  • Translate complex business requirements into robust functional and technical solution architectures.
  • Evaluate design options and guide decision-making between competing solution approaches.

Functional & Technical Leadership

  • Provide expert-level guidance on both functional business processes and technical system design within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Perform detailed analysis and system parameterisation in D365 F&O.
  • Advise project teams on solution structure, development approaches, and configuration standards.
  • Ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are properly captured and reflected in the solution design.

Client Advisory & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including management and executive-level contacts.
  • Lead architectural discussions and design workshops with business and technical audiences.
  • Support clients in navigating complex ERP transformation decisions, balancing scope, feasibility, and best practices.
  • Guide clients toward streamlined, future-proof ERP solutions aligned with operational goals.

Project Support & Delivery

  • Support ERP implementation projects by ensuring architectural integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants, developers, and project managers to ensure alignment with the overall solution design.
  • Review and validate technical developments and configurations to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
  • Contribute to successful delivery of complex ERP programmes in manufacturing and logistics environments.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date with the latest Microsoft Dynamics 365 capabilities, updates, and industry best practices.
  • Introduce innovative approaches and modern architectural patterns into client solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system design, performance, and scalability.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and architectural governance frameworks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience delivering complex ERP implementations, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Proven experience in enterprise architecture design and ERP solution development.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 (functional and/or technical).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
  • Deep understanding of ERP architecture and enterprise system design
  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain processes
  • Experience in both functional consulting and technical solution design
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to engage and influence senior management and executive stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to lead structured architectural discussions and design governance

Languages

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
