Migration Deployment Specialist – Scheduling (IBM Z Workload Scheduler)

<p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an experienced scheduling migration specialist to support large-scale migrations to <strong>IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS)</strong>. This role serves as a subject matter expert in batch scheduling conversion across development, test, and production environments.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead and support migration of batch scheduling workloads to <strong>IBM Z Workload Scheduler</strong>.</li> <li>Analyze legacy scheduling definitions from <strong>CA-7</strong>, <strong>CA ESP</strong>, <strong>Jobtrac</strong>, <strong>BMC Control-M</strong>, and <strong>ASG Zeke/Zebb</strong> and map them to IBM scheduler structures.</li> <li>Execute parallel tracking, schedule validation, dependency analysis, and issue resolution.</li> <li>Monitor workload execution using <strong>TSO/ISPF</strong> and IBM scheduler interfaces.</li> <li>Provide technical guidance and training to scheduling teams and operational staff.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Mandatory Skills and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong mainframe background in <strong>OS/390</strong> or <strong>z/OS</strong></li> <li>Deep hands-on experience with <strong>IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS)</strong>.</li> <li>Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV scheduling platforms such as <strong>CA-7</strong>, <strong>CA ESP</strong>, <strong>CA Workload Automation ESP</strong>, <strong>Jobtrac</strong>, <strong>BMC Control-M</strong>, or <strong>ASG Zeke/Zebb</strong> to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.</li> <li>Strong <strong>TSO/ISPF</strong> editing skills and expert-level understanding of <strong>JCL</strong>.</li> <li>Experience with dependency analysis, schedule validation, report review, and iterative <strong>parallel tracking</strong></li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration and customer-facing work.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred / Additional Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>REXX programming skills.</strong></li> <li>Workload Automation Programming Language <strong>WAPL</strong></li> <li><strong>Dynamic Workload Console familiarity.</strong></li> </ul>
