About the role

About the Project

We are building Dyad, a new equation-based, object-oriented modeling language with a primary focus on high-performance synchronous programming. We have successfully established a core compiler infrastructure for discrete, clocked semantics. We are now looking for a Strategic Engagement Lead to take ownership of the "last mile": driving the adoption of Dyad in safety-critical industry environments, managing customer-specific HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) integrations, and leading our qualification efforts for aerospace and automotive standards.

The Role

As the Strategic Engagement Lead, you will act as the primary bridge between our compiler team and our most critical customers (e.g., aerospace and automotive OEMs). You will define our regulatory strategy, navigate the requirements for certification (e.g., MISRA C, DO-178C, ISO 26262), and ensure our code generation pipeline successfully targets the deployment platforms our customers rely on, such as HIL systems like Opal RT and dSPACE.


Key Responsibilities

  • Certification Strategy & Compliance: Define and execute the roadmap for achieving regulatory compliance. Oversee the path toward MISRA C compliance for generated C code, ensuring our toolchain produces audit-ready artifacts for aerospace (DO-178C) and automotive (ISO 26262) certifications.
  • HIL Integration & Adoption: Guide the effort to deploy Dyad-generated models into customer HIL environments. Surface integration challenges at the boundary between our compiler output and hardware platforms (e.g., FPGA gateware, real-time targets).
  • Customer Engagement & Ownership: Own the success of our key industry engagements. Translate customer requirements from high-level "plant model" needs into actionable development tickets for the compiler team (e.g., prioritizing array support, FMU workflows, or specific HIL targets).
  • Collaborate: Partner with language designers and compiler engineers to ensure that the features we build are not only theoretically sound but also practically deployable in the real-world environments our customers operate in.


Ideal Qualifications

  • Regulatory & Certification Experience: Strong understanding of safety-critical software certification, specifically MISRA C, DO-178C, or ISO 26262. Experience with static analysis tools and the generation of qualification packets/artifacts.
  • HIL & Embedded Systems: Practical expertise in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) deployment. Familiarity with industry-standard platforms (dSPACE, Opal RT, Concurrent RT) and the challenges of real-time software deployment.
  • Product-Minded Engineering: Ability to identify market needs, drive feature prioritization, and explain complex compiler technologies to non-compiler specialists (e.g., C-level stakeholders at major OEMs).
  • Collaborative Mindset: Experience working effectively across time zones (Europe/US) and leading cross-functional projects that bridge the gap between R&D and production implementation.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Compiler/Static Analysis Knowledge: An understanding of compiler construction is a plus, as it will help you communicate effectively with the internal technical team.
  • Formal Methods: Background in formal verification or safety-critical software generation.
  • Modeling & Simulation: Experience with equation-based modeling environments (Simulink Simscape, Modelica, or similar) and understanding the software-hardware interface in cyber-physical systems.
  • Julia Ecosystem: Familiarity with the Julia SciML ecosystem (ModelingToolkit.jl) is desirable as it forms the basis of our simulation stack.
