<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>
<p>The Mohs Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing Mohs surgery. This position ensures the maintenance of a safe, efficient, and quality-focused environment by conducting pre-surgical evaluations, providing patient and family education, assisting with surgical procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining meticulous patient records in both electronic and physical formats.</p>
<p><strong>Pay and Hours:</strong></p>
<p>Pay range is $24 - $26 hourly, Hours are: Monday & Thursday in Salem NH, Tuesday & Wednesday in North Andover, 10 Hours daily. (6:30 AM - 4:30 PM)</p>
<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>
<p>To perform effectively in this role, the candidate must fulfill the following duties with or without reasonable accommodations:</p>
<ul>
<li>Conduct initial assessments and review health survey data to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs.</li>
<li>Provide detailed pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and compliance with care instructions.</li>
<li>Prepare the surgical area by organizing necessary instruments, equipment, and anesthesia.</li>
<li>Assist the surgeon during procedures, including scrubbing in, handing instruments, cutting sutures, and maintaining a sterile operative field.</li>
<li>Ensure the surgical environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with established protocols.</li>
<li>Administer anesthesia under the direct supervision of the physician, ensuring accurate dosages and adherence to proper techniques.</li>
<li>Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including detailed notes for each Mohs procedure within the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.</li>
<li>Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of follow-up communications and post-operative instructions.</li>
<li>Implement practices that promote excellence in surgical care and patient outcomes.</li>
<li>Maintain a sterile environment by strictly adhering to safety standards and protocols.</li>
<li>Monitor patient safety during procedures and recovery, taking all necessary precautions to ensure their well-being.</li>
<li>Provide clear, written post-operative instructions, ensuring patients have access to an effective communication system for follow-up questions or concerns.</li>
<li>Assist patients with mobility following surgery to ensure safety and prevent falls.</li>
<li>Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including the autoclave, ensuring all instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li>
<li>Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant or surgical technician; experience in dermatology is highly preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.</li>
<li>Expertise in the use of surgical instruments and maintaining sterile environments.</li>
</ul>
