About the role
Teachers at Honey Creek Community School are responsible for collaboratively planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programming and student support for learners in grades K–8. This includes the delivery of a multi-age, interdisciplinary curriculum that is continuously developed to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs and goals of each student.
Teachers are expected to utilize a whole-child, trauma-informed approach to instruction and classroom management, and to uphold the school’s commitment to equity and social justice in all aspects of their practice.
In addition to collaboration with colleagues, teachers are responsible for establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with students’ caregivers and members of the broader community. Teachers incorporate connections between home, school, and community into the curriculum and actively encourage family and community engagement to support and enhance student learning.
