Teachers in this position be able to do the following:</span></p> <ul> <li data-priority="">Collaborate with teachers and the child study team to provide an integrated plan for developing the capacities of their students</li> <li>Utilize differentiation and scaffolding to facilitate progress towards IEP goals</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience/comfort with online applications to enhance learning</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Design and implement curriculum and assessments that measure progress towards academic standards</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Receptive to weekly coaching and committed to growing and strengthening practice</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Provide consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Implement multiple techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Will be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Teaching experience in an upper elementary, middle, or high school with an underserved population</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Adept interpersonal and communication skills to diverse audiences&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Valid NJ Teacher Certification completed.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"></span></li> <li>Under&nbsp;<strong>N.J.A.C. 6A:14</strong>, which governs special education in New Jersey, students with IEPs who receive in-class support services must be supported by individuals who hold the appropriate certification. Specifically:A&nbsp;<strong>Teacher of Record</strong>&nbsp;for special education must hold a&nbsp;<strong>New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS)</strong> in Special Education, or a standard instructional certificate in special education.&nbsp;<strong>In-class support</strong>&nbsp;is considered a special education service under the IEP, meaning the person delivering it must be appropriately certified to do so.</li> </ul> <p>(A non-certified individual <strong>cannot</strong> fulfill the role of the special education teacher providing IEP-mandated services)</p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;"></span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
