Overview
The Non-Credit Instructor, SBDC provides confidential one‑to‑one business advising and group training to aspiring and existing small business owners. Responsibilities include client intake/assessment, training design and delivery, and documentation of advising/training outcomes in required systems.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver non-credit workshops, seminars, and webinars on small‑business topics.
- Provide confidential one‑to‑one advising on business planning, financials, marketing, and access to capital.
- Conduct client intake, needs assessments, follow-ups, and maintain documentation in SBA/NJSBDC systems.
- Design training materials and integrate competencies aligned with diverse entrepreneur needs.
- Utilize technology tools for instruction and reporting.
- Participate in outreach events and represent the SBDC professionally.
- Meet established performance and reporting targets.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required, master’s preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience advising or training small businesses preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
- Strong communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency with business tools, virtual platforms, and reporting systems.
- Specialized knowledge in business planning, finance, marketing, HR, operations, or technology.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.
