We partner with businesses, government agencies, and local organizations to create<br>impactful programs that empower and uplift military families.</p> <p>Independent Contractor Engagement Terms:<br>This independent contractor will be retained solely for project-based, outcome-driven services<br>and will not be an employee, agent, or representative of Blue Star Families. The independent<br>contractor:<br>● Will provide their own tools, equipment, and software necessary for completing<br>deliverables.<br>● Is responsible for determining work methods, scheduling, and location of work.<br>● Maintains full control over how services are executed.<br>● Will invoice BSF on agreed terms and is responsible for their own tax obligations,<br>insurance, and business expenses.<br>● May perform work for other clients and is not subject to BSF employee policies or<br>supervision.</p> <p>Project Based Scope of Work<br>Blue Star Families seeks an independent contractor to deliver event-based services in support of<br>the Nourish the Service (NTS) program across the New England region.<br>The contractor will be responsible for the planning and execution of four (4) food distribution<br>events during the contract period. Services are project-based and outcome-driven, with the<br>contractor maintaining discretion over how deliverables are achieved following Blue Star Families<br>guidelines.</p> <p>Scope of Services<br>1. Event Delivery<br>● Plan and execute a minimum of three (3) and maximum of four (4) NTS food distribution<br>events across the New England region (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI) within the contract period<br>● Deliver each event including:<br>○ Secured venue and logistics coordination<br>○ Food sourcing and distribution setup<br>○ On-site execution and breakdown<br>● Ensure events are delivered in a manner aligned with BSF program intent and community<br>standards<br>● Vendor &amp; Resource Coordination<br>● Volunteer Engagement (Event-Specific)<br>● Community Partner Coordination<br>● Documentation of Event Statistics &amp; Reporting</p> <p>Deliverables &amp; Payment Terms<br>● Minimum of 3, Maximum of 4 completed events between {Month of Hire} and December<br>2026<br>● Post-event summary report submitted within 48 hours after each event<br>● Optional periodic check-ins may be scheduled as needed to support deliverable<br>alignment, not as ongoing supervision<br>● All services shall be delivered in accordance with agreed deadlines and milestones.<br>Payment structure to be outlined in a separate contract. BSF shall not direct how services<br>are performed — only that deliverables meet agreed results.<br>● Deliver a digital print-ready resource guide and accompanying materials that support<br>military families in accessing food security resources, including curated referrals,<br>navigation information, and awareness content aligned with Nourish the Service program<br>goals.</p> <p>Blue Star Families will provide:<br>● Program guidelines and desired outcomes<br>● Brand standards and approval for vendor agreements when required<br>● Access to existing partnerships where appropriate</p> <p>The parties acknowledge and agree that the Contractor is engaged as an independent contractor<br>and not as an employee, partner, joint venturer, or agent of Blue Star Families. Nothing in this<br>agreement shall be construed to create an employer-employee relationship.<br>● Contract Duration: Through December 2026 with potential for renewal based on mutual<br>agreement<br>● Compensation: $1500 per event, paid upon receipt of invoice<br>● This position is an independent contractor role (1099), not an employee or volunteer<br>position<br>The contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment unless otherwise<br>specified and must adhere to all BSF confidentiality, ethics, and brand policies.<br>The Contractor may provide services to other clients during the term of this agreement and is<br>responsible for all business expenses, insurance, licensing, and compliance obligations related to<br>their independent business.<br>Any resources provided are for brand alignment purposes only and do not constitute control over<br>the manner or means of the Contractor’s work.<br>Preferred Qualifications:<br>This engagement is suited for an independent contractor with experience delivering:<br>● Community-based events or large-scale logistics coordination<br>● Food distribution, food access programs, or related service initiatives<br>● Partnership or vendor coordination across multiple locations<br>● Resource development or community-facing materials</p>
