<p><span data-contrast="auto">Liquid Personnel is seeking a proactive and motivated Occupational Therapist to join its client's Urgent Response Occupational Therapy Team based in Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist service providing rapid assessments and interventions for residents at immediate risk of injury, helping to prevent hospital admissions and support safe community living.</span></p>
<p><span data-contrast="auto"><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":false,"134233118":false,"335559738":0,"335559739":0}"><strong>The Role:</strong></span></span></p>
<p>Working across the London Borough of Barnet, you will undertake urgent Occupational Therapy and Moving & Handling Risk Assessments for complex cases requiring timely intervention.</p>
<p>This is a busy and rewarding role that requires strong clinical reasoning, excellent manual handling expertise, and the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a close-knit team.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will participate in a weekly Duty OT rota and work closely with colleagues to deliver a responsive and high-quality service.</p>
<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">What will your responsibilities be?</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":false,"134233118":false,"335559738":0,"335559739":0}"> </span></p>
<ul>
<li>Complete urgent Occupational Therapy assessments across the borough.</li>
<li>Undertake complex moving and handling risk assessments.</li>
<li>Assess and recommend specialist equipment and interventions.</li>
<li>Support carers and service users where there is a high risk of injury.</li>
<li>Contribute to safeguarding investigations relating to equipment and manual handling concerns.</li>
<li>Assess requests for increased care packages where manual handling assessments are required.</li>
<li>Respond to urgent referrals involving unsafe transfers, mobility issues, and equipment failures.</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with health, social care, and community partners.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto"><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":false,"134233118":false,"335559738":0,"335559739":0}">Referral Criteria Includes:</span></span></strong></p>
<p>You will assess referrals involving:</p>
<ul>
<li>Unsafe transfers and mobility situations presenting an immediate risk of injury.</li>
<li>High-risk moving and handling concerns affecting service users or carers.</li>
<li>Safeguarding concerns relating to equipment or manual handling.</li>
<li>Equipment that is no longer fit for purpose and presents a significant safety risk.</li>
<li>Requests for increased care support requiring specialist manual handling assessments.</li>
<li>Palliative care cases where alternative specialist services are not involved.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong><span data-contrast="auto">Qualifications & Experience:</span></strong><span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":false,"134233118":false,"335559738":0,"335559739":0}"> </span></p>
<ul>
<li>Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration</li>
<li>Extensive experience in moving and handling assessments</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of equipment provision and risk management</li>
<li>Ability to work autonomously and manage a demanding caseload</li>
<li>Experience within community, adult social care, urgent response, or hospital discharge services</li>
<li>Excellent communication and report-writing skills</li>
<li>A proactive and positive approach to teamwork</li>
<li>A car driver is preferred due to the borough-wide nature of the role.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>1–2 days per week in the office</li>
<li>Thursday is the team's designated office day</li>
<li>Hybrid working available for the remainder of the week</li>
<li>Monthly formal supervision plus ongoing day-to-day support</li>
