About the role
- Oversee and coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and offsite validation for critical electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, switchgear, STS, and power distribution equipment
- Ensure all equipment and systems meet design specifications, performance requirements, and quality standards prior to shipment to site
- Act as the primary liaison between OEMs, vendors, integrators, and field teams to ensure alignment on testing, delivery schedules, and commissioning readiness
- Track and manage offsite commissioning progress across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with construction schedules and startup milestones
- Provide technical oversight and validation of electrical systems readiness to support successful site commissioning and energization
- Identify, escalate, and drive resolution of issues that could impact project timelines, system performance, or commissioning success
- Maintain detailed reporting and documentation of all offsite commissioning activities, ensuring traceability and accountability
- Utilize commissioning platforms (e.g., CxAlloy) to manage documentation, workflows, and reporting where applicable
- Support integration of offsite testing results into on-site commissioning plans and execution strategies
- Collaborate with project managers, commissioning teams, and construction teams to ensure seamless transition from equipment delivery to installation, startup, and turnover
- Travel to vendor facilities, factories, and project sites as needed to witness testing, validate performance, and support commissioning efforts
- Ensure all deliverables align with the team's standards, client expectations, and mission-critical operational requirements
- Commissioning / startup / FAT / mission critical infrastructure
- Electrical systems: UPS, STS, switchgear, distribution, reserve power
- Managing non-direct reports
- Strong reporting and documentation discipline
- Comfortable with integrators, OEMs, field teams, and turnover processes
- CxAlloy familiarity preferred
- Electrical technical fluency
- Program leadership across multiple locations
- Ability to govern offsite readiness vs site startup completion
- Strong communication and issue-management discipline
- Data center or modular infrastructure experience
- Vendor / OEM startup coordination
- Experience with factory testing and witness strategies
- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
