On - Demand Driver

<p>Sioux Area Metro is South Dakota’s largest transportation provider. Our mission is to have a positive social and economic impact on the community by providing a safe and reliable transportation option for all who live, work, or play in Sioux Falls.&nbsp;</p> <p>As an&nbsp;<strong>On-Demand</strong><strong>&nbsp;Driver</strong> at SAM by Via, you will drive buses and provide outstanding customer service to riders in the immediate Sioux Falls area.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Drive vehicles in heavy or light city and highway traffic, in all conditions, and following all rules and regulations in a productive and timely manner</li> <li>Safely and courteously, operate lift-equipped vehicles to transport elderly and/or disabled persons</li> <li>Learn the fundamentals of SAM by Via operations and related safety procedures</li> <li>Perform the routine operation of agency vehicles</li> </ul> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Possess good knowledge of the city</li> <li>Able to follow written and verbal instruction</li> <li>Able to operate a bus within standard safety guidelines to ensure public safety</li> <li>Able to deal effectively and courteously with all customers and the public</li> <li>Hold a valid SD driver’s license</li> <li>Able to pass a pre-employment physical</li> <li>Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets</li> <li>At least 25 years old</li> <li>Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office</li> </ul> <p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p> <ul> <li>Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.</li> <li>Salary Range: Starting at $22.50/hour during training/probation with increases up to $25.00</li> <li>Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, 401K with up to 6% company match, holiday pay, vacation, and bonus days</li> </ul> <p>Founded in 2012, Via pioneered the TransitTech category by using new technologies to develop public mobility systems — optimizing networks of buses, shuttles, wheelchair accessible vehicles, school buses, autonomous vehicles, and electric vehicles around the globe.&nbsp;</p> <p>Building the world's most efficient, equitable, and sustainable transportation network for all passengers — including those with limited mobility, those without smartphones, and unbanked populations — Via works with its partners to lower the costs of public transit while providing transportation options that rival the convenience of a personal car while reducing environmental impact.&nbsp;</p> <p>At the intersection of transportation and technology, Via is a visionary market leader that combines software innovation with sophisticated service design and operational expertise to fundamentally improve the way the world moves, providing technology in 650 communities and more than 35 countries and counting.</p> <p>Ready to join the ride?</p> <p><em>Via is an equal opportunity employer.</em></p>
