About the role

  • Responsible for all electrical systems and civil works in the solar PV plant to ensure compliance to regulations and enhance system health.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on solar PV systems, not limited to DC and LV components and connections.
  • Attend to electrical breakdowns related to solar PV systems, initiate fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain proper documentation and related records through the channels provided for all corrective and preventative maintenance.
  • Supervise and monitor any related works to solar PV system performed by appointed Contractor.
  • Report writing for any product warranty claim including inverter, PV module, data logger etc.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annually operating reports on information about electricity production, efficiency, availability, maintenance performed, outages, results of inspections, manufacturer recommended services, replacements, control settings, or adjustments of equipment and protective devices.
  • Liaise with government authorities such Energy Commission (ST), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Visiting Electrical Consultant etc. on all solar PV system related issues.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for any issues related to warranty and product quality issue.
  • Manage, maintain and sustain inventory of spare parts and tools provided.
  • Support and involve with project execution team during and after construction and installation phase of the solar PV system.
  • Support and involve with other O&M related works at Residential, Commercial & Industrial, and Large Scale Solar as per instructed by Engineer.
  • Full support during emergency (24 hours).
  • Full support during Hari Raya and public holiday.
  • Working hours and working days are subject to arrangement by owner of the Solar Plant.

Requirements

  • Possess 1 year of working experience in an environment involving operation and controlling low voltage electrical equipment.
  • Possess sufficient knowledge and skills in wiring for LV installation.
  • Extensive knowledge on electrical theory and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and reporting skills.
  • Possess sufficient knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and its regulations.
  • Possess valid Chargeman A0/A1 certificate from Energy Commission (ST) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Good in computer literate.
  • Customer oriented, independent, and good interpersonal skills.
  • Possess valid driving license D and able to base in Sitiawan, Perak.
  • Willing to relocate to Batu Gajah, Kerian or Penang.
  • Good communication in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (verbally as well as written).
  • Physically and mentally strong and fit.
  • Able to work on weekends and public holidays if required.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
