Operations Manager

Role Summary
Camphomes is seeking a dynamic and strategic Operations Manager to lead and scale the operational performance of our prefabricated home production facility in Nicaragua. This role is pivotal as we move from early-stage traction to a fully scalable, high-efficiency production model. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of operational leadership, production optimization, and team development experience with a hands-on, data-driven approach. As a secondary mandate, the Operations Manager will also spearhead the planning and initial setup of a complementary operation in Costa Rica, laying the groundwork for future regional expansion.
Key Responsibilities

1. Factory Operations & Production Leadership (Primary Focus)

• Oversee and optimize all aspects of daily factory operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety.
• Implement and continuously improve scalable production systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across multiple specialized workstations.
• Monitor and improve production metrics, ensuring accurate cost and efficiency tracking for financial reporting.
• Coordinate BIM-based work orders, production workflows, and scheduling for both batch and custom projects.
• Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of the Nicaragua-based operations team.
• Identify bottlenecks, implement process improvements, and support the scaling of production from 2 to 10+ homes per year.  
  

2. Costa Rica Expansion (Secondary Focus)

• Conduct feasibility studies and site selection for a future production facility in Costa Rica.
• Build local partnerships and navigate regulatory, labor, and supply chain frameworks.
• Develop a phased rollout plan for Costa Rica operations aligned with scaling goals.

3. Cross-Border Coordination

• Ensure operational alignment between Nicaragua and Costa Rica facilities.
• Standardize processes, documentation, and reporting across both sites.
• Coordinate logistics and production schedules to support U.S.-based installations.

3. Supply Chain & Logistics Management

• Oversee procurement and supply chain operations across Nicaragua, Central America, and the U.S.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective, timely sourcing of materials and components.
• Optimize logistics, including containerization, shipping, and customs coordination.

4. Systems, Data, and Reporting

• Develop and maintain operational dashboards and KPI tracking systems.
• Ensure precise documentation of production data, costs, and operational expenses.
• Collaborate with finance and leadership to support forecasting, pipeline modeling, and investor reporting.

5. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Growth

• Evaluate and introduce new technologies or process innovations that enhance productivity and scalability.
• Work closely with the Co-Founders on long-term operational planning and regional expansion strategies.

• Manufacturing Expertise: Background in prefabrication, construction, or industrial production.
• Strategic Vision: Capable of balancing immediate operational needs with long-term scaling goals.
• Tech-Savvy: Proficient in digital tools for production, documentation, and data management (e.g., BIM, ERP, or project management systems).
