You will take responsibility for the logistics of the local fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, ensuring they are charged, safe, and positioned correctly to meet the community's transportation needs.</p> <p>We are looking for entrepreneurial individuals or logistics businesses ready to hit the ground running. Whether you are a solo operator with a single van or a fleet owner capable of deploying multiple drivers, you can scale this partnership to fit your capacity.</p> <p>You will have the flexibility to choose how you operate:</p> <ul> <li>Maximize earnings by securing your own space (warehouse/facility) to charge vehicles overnight.</li> <li>Streamline operations by simply retrieving and transporting vehicles to our central warehouse.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Important Details About the Role:</strong></p> <ul> <li>This is an independent contractor position, not an employee role.</li> <li>You are responsible for your own tools, equipment, and any associated expenses required to complete your work.</li> <li>As an independent contractor, you manage your own schedule and workload to meet the operational needs of Bird.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Fleet Transportation: </strong>Utilize your vehicle(s) or fleet to collect, deploy, relocate, and retrieve e-scooters and e-bikes across Raleigh daily.</li> <li><strong>Operational Management: </strong>Manage the end-to-end operation of your assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high-demand areas.</li> <li><strong>Maintenance &amp; Quality:</strong> Perform light field checks to ensure vehicles are safe and environmentally friendly.</li> <li><strong>Field Execution:</strong> Problem-solve in real-time to overcome obstacles, prioritize tasks, and navigate local geography efficiently.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Must Haves</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Vehicle Access (Required): </strong>Must own or have consistent access to at least one large vehicle (van/truck) suitable for transporting multiple scooters/bikes. Fleet owners with multiple vehicles/drivers are encouraged to apply.</li> <li><strong>Storage Space (Asset): </strong>Access to a garage, warehouse, or commercial facility with electricity is highly preferred for maximizing earnings (allows for overnight charging).</li> <li><strong>License: </strong>Valid Class 5 Driver's License (or applicable commercial license) with a clean driving record for all operating drivers.</li> <li><strong>Physical Ability: </strong>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; must be able to stoop, bend, walk, and stand for long periods while handling heavy equipment.</li> <li><strong>Availability: </strong>Flexible schedule with a willingness to regularly operate on weekends.</li> <li><strong>Tech-Savvy: </strong>Comfortable learning new mobile tools to locate and manage the fleet.</li> <li><strong>Local Knowledge:&nbsp;</strong>Strong knowledge of Raleigh's local geography.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Why Bird Matters</strong></h3> <p>Every time you hop on a Bird, you’re helping build a more livable city.
