We’re looking for motivated Senior Orchard Specialists to join our team — people who take pride in their work, enjoy leading others, and want to learn from some of the best in the business. - Assist with planning and scheduling by providing timely feedback on progress or issues with work completed to the Orchard Manager
- Complete orchard tasks as required, such as irrigation installation, repairs, and general maintenance.
- Liaise with supervisors and managers to understand daily job requirements, including resources and equipment needed.
- Understand the basics of orchard spray application — including the purpose, timing, and key principles — to support effective and successful spray schedules across the orchards.
- Ensure that orchard tasks meet the Baygold Way standards
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, actively engage with our H&S system, and contribute to creating a safe environment for yourself and your team.
Team Supervision (when required)
- Lead small crews of orchard workers including contractors and Registered Seasonal Employees (RSEs) — by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and meets Baygold Way standards, while fostering a positive team environment.
What you'll bring
- 2–5 years of practical experience in the kiwifruit industry.
- Demonstrated initiative to understand orchard needs and respond appropriately
- Genuine interest in horticulture, shown through study, hands‑on work, or personal passion
- Strong communication skills with the ability to give and follow clear direction
- Forklift Operator Licence (advantageous)
- Experience operating farm vehicles such as quad bikes and tractors (advantageous)
- Driver licence and reliable transport
There are so many reasons to join our team!
- Grow your skills and build a successful career in a premium horticulture business.
- Strong values: Care, Inspire, Perform and Grow
- Health insurance, skin mole maps and annual health checks (because we care)!
