Parenting Class Instructor (RN)

<p><strong>Position Objective:</strong></p><p>This position instructs prospective parents and grandparents in infant care, self-care following delivery, or breast-feeding an infant according to guidelines established by the perinatal unit.</p><p><strong>Essential Job Duties:</strong></p><p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions&nbsp;</p><ol><li>Teaches class covering all points on established outline, allowing sufficient time for class participation.</li><li>Plans and prepares class materials according to established routine. Registers clients and document incentives according to guidelines.</li><li>Performs evaluation responsibilities and participates in quality improvement process.</li><li>Obtains needed supplies and equipment for class. Cleans teaching area and return supplies and equipment to proper storage area after class.</li><li>Communicates as necessary to coordinator or appropriate CHP staff and attends instructor meetings as scheduled by coordinator</li></ol><p><strong>Educational/Experience Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>BSN required.</li><li>At least six months experience in Maternal-Child Health or Certificate in Early Childhood curriculum and Development.</li><li>One year experience working with children under the age of two.</li><li>Demonstrates effective communication skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Required License/Certifications:</strong><strong>&nbsp; </strong></p><ul><li>Current licensure as a RN</li></ul><ul><li>Certificate in Early Childhood curriculum and Development preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:</strong></p><p>There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.</p><p><strong>Physical Demands - </strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>The physical demands and work environment that have been described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
