Job Description


OC Automotive Resources is seeking a full time Auto Body Parts Person.

Position Summary

The Parts Technician plays a critical role in the efficiency and accuracy of the auto body repair process. This position is responsible for ordering, receiving, inspecting, organizing, and distributing parts needed for vehicle repairs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate clearly with technicians, estimators, and vendors to ensure timely and correct parts flow.



Key Responsibilities:

1) Parts Ordering & Procurement

- Order OEM, aftermarket, and reconditioned parts based on approved repair estimates.

- Verify part numbers, pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.

- Work with vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate invoicing.

- Track backorders and follow up proactively to avoid repair delays.

2) Receiving & Inspecting Parts

- Receive all incoming parts and verify shipments against invoices and repair orders.

- Inspect parts for accuracy, damage, and quality before distribution.

- Document and return incorrect or damaged parts promptly.

3) Parts Inventory & Organization

- Maintain an organized parts staging area for ongoing repairs.

- Ensure parts are labeled and matched to the correct job file and repair order.

- Manage parts returns, cores, credits, and warranty documentation.

- Maintain adequate inventory of consumables and shop supplies.

4) Communication & Coordination

- Communicate delays, discrepancies, or parts issues to the estimator and production manager.

- Coordinate with body technicians and painters to ensure proper part installation timing.

- Support the production team with status updates on parts arrivals and backorders.

5) Documentation & Administration

- Update repair orders with accurate parts information.

- Reconcile invoices, credits, and vendor statements.

- Maintain records of parts received, returned, or pending.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequently lift and carry parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Push and pull carts or bins of parts and equipment.
  • Use ladders or step stools to retrieve or stock parts on shelves.
  • Work in warehouse and shop environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.

- County Line Auto Body - Howell, NJ
- New Egypt Auto Body - New Egypt, NJ
