<p><strong>Position: </strong>Peer Recovery Support Specialist</p>
<p><strong>Job Summary: </strong>The Peer Recovery Support Specialist provides recovery-oriented support to individuals residing in recovery housing by leveraging lived experience to promote engagement, stability, and long-term wellness. This role focuses on fostering a supportive, structured, and recovery-focused living environment through peer mentorship, facilitation of in-home recovery activities, and connection to community resources. The specialist serves as a role model, advocate, and motivator, helping residents build daily living skills, strengthen recovery pathways, and actively participate in both house-based and community recovery activities.</p>
<p><strong>Reports to:</strong> Housing Supervisor</p>
<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<p>Duties include, but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>Proactively engage and support individuals residing in recovery housing who are in recovery from a substance use disorder</li>
<li>Provide services directly within recovery housing environments, including shared living spaces, as well as in the community</li>
<li>Plan, organize, and facilitate recovery-focused activities within the housing setting (e.g., life skills groups, wellness activities, peer-led discussions, goal-setting sessions)</li>
<li>Support and encourage residents to participate in community-based recovery activities, including mutual aid meetings, social/recreational events, and structured programming</li>
<li>Assist residents with transportation and coordination to attend recovery meetings, appointments, employment opportunities, and other pro-social community activities</li>
<li>Express understanding, support, and respect for multiple pathways to recovery; provide services primarily in person or by phone as appropriate</li>
<li>Serve as a positive role model within the housing environment by demonstrating healthy recovery behaviors, routines, and community living skills</li>
<li>Foster a safe, supportive, and recovery-oriented living environment that promotes accountability, peer support, and personal growth</li>
<li>Assist residents in identifying personal interests, strengths, goals, and barriers related to their recovery journey and independent living</li>
<li>Support residents in developing daily living skills such as time management, communication, conflict resolution, and maintaining a structured routine</li>
<li>Collaborate with housing staff, case management, and clinical teams to support resident progress and address emerging needs</li>
<li>Assist individuals in accessing appropriate levels of care in consultation with licensed behavioral health clinicians</li>
<li>Maintain confidentiality of peer relationships in accordance with applicable regulations, including mandated reporting requirements in the State of Ohio</li>
<li>Serve as a mandated reporter</li>
<li>Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led groups and house meetings as needed</li>
<li>Maintain required documentation, including electronic health records, billing documentation, activity logs, and group attendance records</li>
<li>Participate in regular team meetings, case staffing, and supervision</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Required Experience/Abilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum high school diploma/ G.E.D.</li>
<li>Must have lived experience in addiction recovery</li>
<li>Certification as a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter</li>
<li>Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desired Experience/Abilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and insurance</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Compensation Range: </strong><span class="collapsed-field-text">$18 - $20/hr</span></p>
<p><span class="collapsed-field-text"><strong>Schedule</strong>: Tuesday - Saturday 2pm - 10pm and Wednesday - Sunday 8am - 4pm</span></p>
<p><strong>Location</strong>: Columbus, OH</p><div class="content-conclusion"><div>Our benefits package includes paid time off (PTO and sick time), paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life insurance, paid continuing education with supervision, parental leave, and eligibility for loan forgiveness programs.</div>
