Since our founding in 2019, we have achieved world records in quantum photonic processing. As we continue to expand, we're excited to add a Photonic Design Engineer to our team. This flexible, hybrid position requires a minimum of one day in the office each week and offers work locations in Germany or the Netherlands.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and simulate photonic components using tools like Lumerical.</li> <li>Develop PIC layouts in IPKISS, GdsFactory, or similar.</li> <li>Support internal PDK development and maintenance.</li> <li>Automate and script simulations with Python or similar languages.</li> <li>Collaborate with team members using Git for code management.</li> <li>Integrate photonic designs into system architectures.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>MSc in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or related; PhD preferred.</li> <li> <ul> <li><span data-teams="true">3+ years of photonics design experience, preferably in industry.</span></li> </ul> </li> <li>Experince in Lumerical and PIC layout tools (eg. IPKISS, GdsFactory).</li> <li>Strong Python skills and experience with Git.</li> <li>Proficiency in English.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Lumerical API, PDK development, Silicon Nitride platforms, and quantum integrated photonics.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Personal Attributes:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.</li> <li>Excellent communicator and team player.</li> <li>Detail-oriented with a commitment to high quality.</li> <li>Self-motivated, capable of managing multiple projects independently.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What to expect from us:</strong></p> <p>Join a fast-paced, innovative start-up where your work directly impacts our growth and direction.
