About the role

The Senior Planning Engineer will play a critical role in managing and coordinating the planning functions of various construction projects. This position involves developing detailed project schedules and ensuring that all project activities align with organizational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Study/ Review projects' scope of work as per the contracts, layout, BOQ,,....etc,
    • Participate in review and approval of detailed contractor’s baseline time schedules to achieve contract requirements.
    • Attending and participating in all project’s meetings with contractors and consultants to discuss project progress and comparing the updates with baseline vs site actual, recommend corrective actions where necessary to avoid any delay.
    • Analyse and evaluate contractors` claims, preparing recommendations concerning justified time extensions for various projects.
    • Coordination between all project schedules/contracts to achieve the company objectives within the agreed time through identifying with the planned logic dates and durations.
    • Follow-up and review the progress of work on site according to the reports prepared and submitted by the contractors and participate with the construction team to monitor progress and resolve and discuss any delays.
    • Prepare and issue all planning letters and Notices ( Delay, schedule requirements, claim determination, etc…)
    • Preparing weekly and monthly reports and presentations to top management on project status for periodical review, in addition to highlighting the areas of concerns and reasons of contractor’s delays.
    • Preparing new tender time schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Construction Management, or a related discipline).
  • 7 – 9 years of experience in project planning and controls within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of planning software, such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the capability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of risk management and mitigation strategies in project planning.
