Job Summary:


The Planning Officer is responsible for supporting the Corporation in delivering high‑quality electrical services by preparing accurate electrical service estimates, site maps, and records that inform the reliability and development of the electrical network. The role ensures that system maps remain current, facilitates efficient new service connections, and supports operational activities such as fault reporting and network mapping. This position requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal teams, customers, and property owners.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Prepare electrical service estimates.

  2. Prepare site maps for new electrical service connections.

  3. Conduct site visits to determine the most efficient routing for customer electrical supplies.

  4. Record and file all information related to power supply and street lighting installations.

  5. Record all fault reports and dispatch fault crews.

  6. Assist with mapping of the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) network.

  7. Prepare electrical and structural drawings as required.

  8. Coordinate the gathering of information related to damage to electrical infrastructure.

  9. File all approved service estimates.

  10. Drive Corporation vehicles to perform work duties.

  11. Request permission from property owners for network construction and maintenance activities.

  12. Prepare customer payment advice slips for the sale of materials.

  13. Assist in the preparation of monthly statistical reports.

  14. Perform data entry in various departmental databases.

  15. Prepare requisitions for local purchase orders.

  16. Assist with material requisitioning from the Inventory Management Unit.

  17. Travel to sister islands to perform assigned duties on behalf of the Corporation.

  18. Perform administrative and clerical tasks assigned within the T&D Department.

  19. Maintain effective working relationships with all Corporation employees.

  20. Perform any other duties assigned from time to time within the employee’s competence.

 

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma (Minimum Requirement)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.

  • Proficiency in mapping and drawing (manual and/or digital).
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate computer literacy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Professionalism and integrity.

Work Environment:


  • Works in a combination of office and field environments.
  • Office work involves computer use, preparing estimates, maps, and documentation.
  • Field duties include site visits, inspections, and mapping activities across various locations.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions, including sun, rain, heat, and varying terrain during field work.
  • Occasional work near electrical infrastructure, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE.
  • Regular interaction with customers, property owners, contractors, and internal teams.
  • May require travel to sister islands to perform job‑related tasks.
  • Must adapt to changing priorities, field constraints, and time‑sensitive assignments.

Compensation:


Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
