Barilla G. & R. Fratelli wants to recruit a Plant Quality Manager for Foggia Plant.

The individual will report to the Plant Director and functionally to the Quality Director.

Job Purpose

Ensure the plant Quality expertise, which includes sanitation and pest management, quality assurance, quality control analysis and packaging in order to assure Barilla standards of quality for products and technological processes. Strengthen the team’s quality know‑how in alignment with RDQ quality experts while fostering a strong quality culture through active involvement and training of plant personnel.

Key Accountabilities

    • Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices are observed and that all corporate operational mechanisms specified for the management of food hygiene safety are efficiently implemented within the factories (HACCP, Pest Management) through gap analysis for the comparison between current situation and what is foreseen by GMP
    • Ensure that the internal/external auditing activities are correctly carried out by monitoring the specified corrective actions in order to highlight any variance, non-compliance and/or non-quality costs and to co-ordinate the Factory with the purpose of achieving / maintaining third-party certifications
    • Guarantee technical support to Regulators for Quality- and Food Safety-related issues and to support the head office in managing food emergencies and crises promptly and efficiently
    • Ensure pest management and sanitation supervision in compliance with Barilla quality standards
    • Ensure the presence of a packaging referral point at plant level so as to ensure Barilla quality standards
    • Support the plant with analytical and methodological means to manage processes, promoting auditing activities to evaluate management correctness and effectiveness in coherence with RDQ strategies; support production to solve any product qualitative parameters decrease both in a preventive way and immediately when they should appear
    • Actively contribute to identifying Quality related improvement opportunities and participate in Continuous Improvement / CS initiatives aimed at enhancing compliance, efficiency and stability of qualitative parameters
    • Participate in daily plant routines and cross functional decision making, ensuring Quality considerations are integrated into operational processes
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and European legal regulations in the areas ISO, GMP, health and safety, civil emergency planning, security of information and inspections, etc., guarantee the monitoring of general developments of the relevant legal regulations as an information basis for all quality management purposes, supervise legal compliance and initiate corrective measures in case of deviations and, if necessary, inform the superior and the respective public food authorities in case of substantial deviations.
    • Formulate, propose and implement rules and control mechanisms in the area of quality control for the entire plant based on strategic and operational company requirements and effective national and EU legal regulations in order to ensure full legal compliance.
    • Enhance the Quality mindset across the plant through coaching, training and active involvement of personnel in Quality routines.
    • Promote shared understanding of Quality‑related roles and responsibilities across Q & T and foster team collaboration.

 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field (Food Science / Technology, Chemistry, Engineering, Etc…)
  • 4+ years of experience in Quality & Food Safety area; in alternative, an equivalent experience in other RDQ functions, with a significant focus on quality processes, will be also taken into consideration
  • Good leadership presence with the ability to influence, guide, and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in complex, fast paced operational contexts.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities and drive structured execution across simultaneous projects.
  • Strong analytical mindset with advanced problem solving and decision making capabilities.
  • Fluency in Italian and English, with strong communication skills across organizational levels

 

Compensation package

  • The gross annual base salary (RAL) offered will be no less than € 50.000, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Industria Alimentare)
  • The Company is committed to offering a competitive compensation package and, following the selection process, may propose a final gross annual base salary above the stated level, commensurate with the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications
  • The position's compensation package also includes a variable component and a competitive welfare and benefits offer. Further details will be provided at a later stage and will be subject to the applicable Company policies.
