In addition, the engineer is responsible for automating processes and providing Pico and our clients with secure and stable systems infrastructure. Platform Implementation Engineers may also be called on to investigate and resolve server problems. This is a customer-facing role, with individual responsibility for delivering quality service, supporting our client base and providing excellent customer service.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in Red&nbsp;Hat Linux operating systems, virtual machine technologies (KVM, Hyper-V, Nutanix, VMWare ESXi), server hardware from industry leaders such as HPE or Dell EMC, bash, and Ansible. The candidate should be familiar with ITIL (or comparable) incident response, problem management and change management procedures. Must be comfortable working with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities and duties </strong><em>(including but not limited to)</em></p> <ul> <li>Perform server builds from scratch based on client requirements using Red Hat Satellite, Ansible</li> <li>Perform server end-of-support OS rebuilds / upgrades, ESXi upgrades and firmware updates as required for stability and security.</li> <li>Use scripts, Ansible and automation to support deployment and maintenance of applications and system settings.</li> <li>Provide tertiary expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving server related issues for client systems.</li> <li>Deliver an outstanding level of service to Pico’s customer base.</li> <li>Collaborate with vendors, market participants, and financial exchanges as needed to support customer requirements</li> <li>Create necessary technical and system documentation including diagrams, flowcharts, and scheduled reporting.</li> <li>Collaborate with Platform Operations, Implementation and Engineering to improve efficiency and manageability.</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Education, Skills, and background </strong><em>(incl. Education and Experience Requirements)</em></p> <ul> <li>Computer Science, Information Systems, comparable degrees, or equivalent work experience</li> <li>4 - 8 years of experience in building, provisioning and supporting servers in financial industry <ul> <li>At least 4 years of solid experience in building, provisioning physical and logical servers</li> </ul> </li> <li>Experience in a financial industry preferred.</li> <li>Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows.</li> <li>Experience with Red Hat Satellite.</li> <li>Experience with building bare metal servers and virtual machine technologies (KVM, Hyper-V, Nutanix, VMWare ESXi).</li> <li>Experience with HPE and Dell hardware and relevant systems management software.</li> <li>Experience scripting in Bash, Ansible and Python</li> <li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible to automate deployment, provisioning and configuration ensuring consistency</li> <li>Experience in creating detailed deployment documents, runbooks and architectural diagrams and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal teams</li> <li>Experience with CI/CD pipeline management using Gitlab</li> <li>Strong network server-side network skills with an understanding of IP routing, TCP/IP, multicast, DNS, NTP and PTP.</li> <li>Strong client-interaction communication and customer service skills</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Working hours</strong><br><strong>Rotating shift pattern&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>Shift 1<br>Working days<br>Tuesday to Saturday<br>Working hours(Weekdays)<br>14:30 IST to 23:30 IST<br>Working hours(Saturday)<br>13:30 IST to 22:30 IST</p> <p>Shift 2<br>Working days<br>Tuesday to Saturday<br>Working hours(Weekdays)<br>07:30 IST to 16:30 IST<br>Working hours(Saturday)<br>06:30 IST to 15:30 IST</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><span data-contrast="auto"><span data-ccp-charstyle="Strong">Working Arrangements</span><span data-ccp-charstyle="Strong">&nbsp;</span></span></strong></p> <p>The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role (recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions / geographies including but not limited to EMEA, USA and APAC). The role will require the engineer to work from Tuesday to Saturday week (Sunday and Monday being the weekly off days).
