Post-Conviction Relief Attorney

<p>We're looking for an admitted attorney, for an extremely promising <strong>Post Conviction</strong> <strong>Relief Attorney</strong> position within a premier law firm with lots of room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law and further their career with an established firm in the <strong>Southern California</strong> area. As the Post Conviction Relief Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney. We’re looking to add an attorney with previous litigation and/or appellate experience to join our team and handle post-conviction relief. The Post Conviction Relief Attorney will manage their caseload, as well as client interaction, and can collaborate with our wonderful Post Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Advise client on their legal rights in matters and draw up legal documents about their case</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Responsible for post conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation etc.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position would have interactions with both criminal and immigration practices&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients following each hearing about best strategies</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Handle open criminal cases including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas and sentencing on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients and performing legal research</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage workload of cases</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Provide legal analysis for clients to determine any possible case benefits</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with your fellow associates</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interpersonal skills of the highest caliber</span></li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay Range: $80,000 to $100,000 annual salary</strong></p> <p><strong>Pay ranges can be exceeded depending on experience on a case by case basis.</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Do you have a passion for Criminal Defense and a desire to practice within an organization with lots of room for growth?
