About the role

<p>Pre-Production II is the dedicated kitting role for Assembly. This coordinator tracks work flowing out of metal finishing, anticipates what Assembly will need next, and builds complete, ready-to-build kits so assemblers can focus on building fixtures.</p> <p>This role is the critical link between finishing and the assembly bench, and its success is measured by how smoothly assembly runs.</p> <hr> <h3><span class="s1"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></h3> <p class="p3"><strong>Kit Building for Assembly</strong></p> <ul> <li>Track parts as they come off metal finishing (plating, powder coat, hand polish, patina) and reconcile them to pending assembly orders</li> <li>Assemble complete kits per fixture BOM, including finished metal components, glass, wood, fasteners, and hardware</li> <li>Stage kits in the correct sequence and location for Assembly, with clear identification and any drawings or build notes included</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>Electrical Components &amp; Pre-Assemblies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Pull UL-listed electrical components (sockets, wire, strain reliefs, drivers, LED modules, transformers) per fixture specification and revision</li> <li>Build or stage required sub-assemblies (socket harnesses, pre-wired modules, canopy assemblies) to support assembly flow</li> <li>Confirm that electrical parts match the listed build and flag any substitutions before release</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>Flow &amp; Communication</strong></p> <ul> <li>Partner with metal finishing daily to understand timing and plan kitting accordingly</li> <li>Communicate shortages, damaged parts, or finish issues early to Pre-Production, Procurement, and Quality</li> <li>Support prototype and custom builds with one-off kitting as needed</li> </ul> <p class="p3"><strong>System &amp; Record Keeping</strong></p> <ul> <li>Execute kitting transactions in WMS and NetSuite to maintain accurate part-to-job tracking and inventory&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled staging areas</li> </ul> <hr> <h3><span class="s1"><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>2–4 years of experience in kitting, assembly support, or production material handling</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret BOMs and build lists</li> <li>Familiarity with basic electrical components used in lighting or similar products</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and ability to catch discrepancies before assembly</li> <li>Comfort working with ERP / WMS systems and scanners</li> <li>Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs throughout the shift</li> </ul> <hr> <h3><span class="s1"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Experience in lighting, electrical assembly, or UL-listed products</li> <li>Familiarity with UL 1598 / UL 8750 or general electrical standards</li> <li>Experience with NetSuite or similar systems</li> <li>Basic soldering or mechanical pre-assembly experience</li> </ul> <hr> <h3><span class="s1"><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 annually (based on experience)</li> <li>Eligible for discretionary annual bonus</li> <li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance</li> <li>401(k) with company match</li> <li>Paid time off and holidays</li> <li>Employer-paid life and disability insurance</li> <li>Safety shoe and eyewear allowance</li> <li>Employee discount on Allied Maker products</li> </ul> <hr> <h3><span class="s1"><strong>Work Environment &amp; Physical Requirements</strong></span></h3> <ul> <li>On-site at the Glen Cove workshop</li> <li>Primary work areas include kitting zones and staging lanes adjacent to assembly</li> <li>Active shop-floor environment; safety glasses and closed-toe footwear required</li> <li>Requires standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive handling of small parts</li> <li>Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs</li> </ul> <hr> <h3><span class="s1"><strong>About Allied Maker</strong></span></h3> <p class="p2">Allied Maker is an American design and manufacturing studio creating luxury-crafted lighting fixtures.
