Position Overview — Precast Inspector
We are seeking a Precast Inspector with PCI Level 1/ 2 Certification for a position located in Upstate New York for a minimum duration of 1.5 years
What You’ll Do
Write daily field reports documenting work performed by contractors and noting compliance or non-compliance with contract documents.
Provide daily phone updates to the Department Manager regarding project progress.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
As a Precast Inspector at AEIS, you will work on active construction sites and possibly in soils/concrete testing laboratories. This role involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions and physically demanding environments. AEIS will provide all necessary equipment and training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires prolonged standing and repetitive physical activity. Candidates must be able to:
Use hands to handle, finger, or feel objects and equipment.
Reach, climb, balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, and sit.
Maintain close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, with the ability to focus effectively.
Drive long distances, potentially hundreds of miles per day.
Lifting Requirements
Regularly lift, move, or shake up to 40 lbs.
Frequently lift and/or move 60–80 lbs.
Occasionally move more than 100 lbs., such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete samples.
What We're Looking For
Must Haves
PCI Level 1 or 2 Certification required.
3–5 years of experience in precast/concrete inspection or related work.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans
