Your Role

You will be part of an international team of engineers and process experts within the Silica Business Unit – we produce advanced products for semiconductor manufacturers globally.  You will leverage your technical background to collaborate with external customers and drive internal improvement.  You will strive to understand customer issues, identify solutions, coordinate internal efforts to resolve customer issues, and support expansion of the business.  You will act as a technical product steward to identify high leverage continuous improvement opportunities for our products, manage change control, organize projects, lead technical investigations, and help shepherd new product qualification with our customers.

 

Up to 10% domestic and international travel required – primarily in Taiwan.  Travel to the United States and France may occasionally be required as business needs dictate.

 

 

  • Drive continuous improvement of assigned products by analyzing problems, identifying root causes, and developing action plans.
  • Own the lifecycle of customer-reported issues from intake to closure, ensuring timely, effective resolutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing) to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Translate customer feedback into clear product requirements and improvement roadmaps.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including incident reports, product specifications, and change documents.
  • Coordinate the successful scale-up of new products in manufacturing to full commercialization.

 

 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
  • 8years above experience in product engineering, quality, or chemical manufacturing, preferably in the semiconductor or other microfabrication industry.
  • Demonstrated success in driving product improvements from customer feedback.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis (e.g., 8D, FMEA, Model-based problem solving).
  • Experience with formal CAPA processes and complex change management.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Python/R) and basic statistical methods.
  • Understanding of ISO quality management systems

Customer engagement and communication

  • Experience gathering, validating, and prioritizing customer complaints and requirements.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders and customers.
  • Skills in facilitating cross-functional problem-solving sessions with customers and internal stakeholders.

Collaboration and leadership

  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across multiple functions.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Customer-facing mindset with a client-centric approach to product decisions.

Soft skills

  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail and structured thinking.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; strong presentation skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented.

Desired experience and domain relevance

  • Experience with complaint handling, CAPA documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Background in product design or manufacturing processes relevant to the business portfolio.
  • English language proficiency required
  • French language proficiency is desirable
