<p>Black Canyon Consulting <strong>(BCC)</strong> is searching for a<strong> </strong><strong>Senior Product Manager</strong> to support the delivery and modernization of mission-critical, web-based digital resources for a federal government client. This role is responsible for guiding product strategy and execution across complex, data-driven systems that serve a broad and diverse user base.</p>
<p>The Senior Product Manager will work closely with a Product Owner and lead collaboration across Engineering, User Experience (UX), Quality Assurance (QA), and client stakeholders to define priorities, refine the backlog, and deliver incremental product releases. This is a highly visible role requiring strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to execute tactically in a fast-paced Agile environment.</p>

<h3 id="StandardFullstackdeveloperpositiondescriptionSenior-JobResponsibilities">Job Responsibilities</h3>
<p>Product Strategy and Customer Advocacy</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and deliver product features and enhancements aligned with business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints</li>
<li>Apply user research, usability findings, analytics, and stakeholder input to inform product decisions</li>
<li>Act as a strong advocate for end users, ensuring their needs are clearly understood and reflected in product requirements</li>
<li>Work with Business Analysts (BAs) to translate product vision and feature ideas into clear, actionable requirements, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done</li>
<li>Manage prioritization within an evolving roadmap, balancing near-term delivery with long-term strategy</li>
</ul>
<p>Agile Delivery and Cross-Functional Leadership</p>
<ul>
<li>Partner closely with the Product Owner to support backlog refinement and prioritization</li>
<li>Work day-to-day with Agile teams (Engineering, UX, QA) to develop, iterate, and refine product capabilities</li>
<li>Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives</li>
<li>Monitor delivered functionality and quality, proactively identifying issues and driving resolution</li>
<li>Ensure alignment across internal teams and external stakeholders through clear communication and expectation management</li>
</ul>
<p>Roadmapping, Planning, and Risk Management</p>
<ul>
<li>Establish and maintain product roadmaps, timelines, and release plans aligned with stakeholder needs and program goals</li>
<li>Continuously assess risks related to scope, dependencies, technical feasibility, and resourcing</li>
<li>Work with leadership to identify and remove delivery barriers, including technical or process challenges</li>
<li>Coordinate across UX, Engineering, and Business teams to ensure appropriate staffing and sequencing of work</li>
</ul>
<p>Metrics, Outcomes, and Continuous Improvement</p>
<ul>
<li>Define and track success metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and outcomes to measure product effectiveness and user impact</li>
<li>Use data and feedback to guide continuous product improvement</li>
<li>Ensure delivered solutions align with target architecture, technology strategy, and long-term maintainability</li>
<li>Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and quality</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="StandardFullstackdeveloperpositiondescriptionSenior-Desiredskillsandexperience">Preferred Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)</li>
<li>10+ years of experience supporting technical software or web-based product development</li>
<li>6+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner for digital products</li>
<li>Experience launching multiple products or major features, including ongoing optimization and improvement</li>
<li>Experience working on large, cross-functional initiatives in complex, policy- or data-driven environments</li>
<li>Proven experience using user research, customer feedback, and performance data to guide product decisions</li>
<li>Experience working with distributed or remote teams is a plus</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="StandardFullstackdeveloperpositiondescriptionSenior-Requiredskillsandexperience">Required skills and experience</h3>
<ul>
<li>Strong understanding of human-centered design and its integration with Agile delivery</li>
<li>Solid working knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies</li>
<li>Demonstrated thought leadership in modernizing digital products or platforms</li>
<li>Excellent problem-solving, communication, and consensus-building skills</li>
<li>Ability to synthesize and reconcile competing priorities and stakeholder perspectives</li>
<li>Proficiency with Jira and Confluence</li>
<li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills</li>
<li>
<p class="x_MsoNormal"><strong>Clearance and Location Requirements</strong></p>
<ul type="disc">
<li class="x_MsoNormal">Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance</li>
<li class="x_MsoNormal">Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States;<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>candidates in the DMV area preferred</li>
<li class="x_MsoNormal">All work must be performed within the United States</li>
</ul>

<p>We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and location. The targeted range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000.</p>
