As employee-owners, we’re proud to work with some of the world’s most prestigious brands.&nbsp; In 2025, we were honored to be named East Coast Contractor of the Year by Engineering News Record (ENR).&nbsp; Teamwork, accountability, professionalism, consistently driving for results…that’s how we Build Different.&nbsp;</div> <p></p> <p>We are seeking a <strong>Project Accountant </strong>for our <strong>Rye Brook, NY </strong>location<strong>. </strong>This is a fully in-office role reporting directly to the Finance Manager.&nbsp; The Project Accountant’s primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contract billings, payments, timely reports, closeout compliance, and any other duties related to assigned projects.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Act as a central point of communication between clients and internal team members</li> <li>Accounts Receivable - ensure that client billings are managed and processed in an efficient and timely manner</li> <li>Accounts Payable - ensure that subcontractor invoices are received, approved by necessary parties, and any discrepancies are identified and resolved</li> <li>Collect and track compliance documents</li> <li>Process payables with an accurate understanding of the sales-tax and use-tax requirements for the project</li> <li>Generate monthly reporting and data analysis relating to client projects</li> <li>Execute a proactive approach to project closeout</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Must have</strong> a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Project Accountant role&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Must have</strong> experience working for a General Contractor or Subcontractor</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or comparable professional experience&nbsp;</li> <li>Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and comfortable with other MS Office products</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build relationships with internal and external clients</li> <li>Ability to problem-solve and work independently to identify potential discrepancies</li> <li>Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage their time well on tight deadlines</li> <li>High level of professionalism, responsiveness, and confidentiality</li> <li>Team-player and ability to build relationships well across the organization and team</li> <li>Experience in the construction industry preferred</li> </ul> <p></p> <div class="x_elementToProof"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Technical Skills:</strong></span></div> <div class="x_elementToProof"> <ul> <li>Procore, Timberline/Sage, and GC Pay experience a plus</li> </ul> </div> <p></p> <p><em><strong>In addition,</strong>&nbsp;<strong>Schimenti provides a variety of comprehensive benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance,</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>enrollment in our ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan),&nbsp;</strong><strong>a retirement savings plan, several paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).&nbsp;</strong></em></p>
